Martin Bezuidenhout, founder and director of Esicongweni Environmental Services (EES), is an experienced environmental professional with over 25 years in environmental management and engineering. After earning his B.Eng in Chemical Engineering from Potchefstroom University (1995) and completing the Management Advancement Programme at Wits Business School (2003), Martin built a career across leading industrial and environmental roles. He began as a Chemical Engineer at Iscor (1996–1997), later serving as Environmental Engineer and Manager at Mittal Steel/ArcelorMittal South Africa (1999–2007), where he oversaw environmental departments, ISO14001 certification, land management, and large-scale rehabilitation projects.
In 2007, Martin established EES, transforming his role at ArcelorMittal into a consultancy partnership. Since then, he has led the company in delivering services including environmental compliance monitoring, audits, authorizations, waste management, rehabilitation, and project management for clients across South Africa.
